About Us

Our Story

For more than two decades, Flowers by Gabrielle has been creating artful floral designs inspired by nature, seasonality, and the beauty found in everyday moments. Founded in 2001 by Gabrielle Reilly after earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Wayne State University, the studio is known for its lush, garden-inspired arrangements, thoughtfully curated gift items, and refined yet welcoming aesthetic.

Coming from a family of artists and designers, Gabrielle’s creativity is deeply rooted in both fine art and the natural world. Botanicals continue to be a constant source of inspiration for her daily floral work, weddings, and event design, where she blends rich color, texture, and organic movement into every arrangement. Her work is guided by a love for creating beauty that feels effortless, expressive, and deeply personal.

Today, Flowers by Gabrielle proudly serves the Grosse Pointe and metro Detroit community with florals designed to celebrate life’s milestones, quiet moments, and everything in between. Whether creating an intimate bouquet or styling a full event, Gabrielle and her team hope to bring beauty, warmth, and inspiration into your lives for years to come.

    Mary (she/her)

    Floral Designer

Mary has over 40 years of experience as a professional florist, and she began working at Flowers by Gabrielle in 2004. She is passionate about designing florals for weddings and special events, and she continues to grow in her skills, surprising and delighting our lucky brides and grooms. Also known as Mary Christmas, she has led our holiday decorating team since 2005. She looks forward to the season every year and is always thinking about ways to perfect and refine the process. Her interest in all things floral started when she was a child, helping her parents in the garden. Her mom and dad were always excited about new varieties of flowers they found, and apparently, their enthusiasm was contagious. Flowers always make Mary happy, and she can’t imagine doing anything else. When Mary is not working, she enjoys sailing with the CreekFleet club, gardening, and traveling.

    Savanna (she/they)

    Floral Designer

Savanna is a Capricorn who lives up to the earth-sign title. Her appreciation for flowers began at a young age through gardening with her grandparents, and she turned that passion into a career. That love of nature translates to her designs, as she tends to gravitate towards garden-style arrangements. When she’s not working her dream job, you can find her cross-stitching, baking, scrapbooking, raising swallowtails, or undertaking a new hobby and trying to perfect it on her first try. If there’s a pretty flower or creature nearby, there’s a high chance there’s already a picture of it on Savanna’s camera roll.

    Lulu (she/her)

    Shop Dog

Lulu joined the Flowers by Gabrielle team in 2018. As the shop dog, she is an integral part of the company. Aside from being the best girl, she serves as our Customer Relations Officer, Emotional Support Pup, and Head of HR. She’ll greet you with a gentle jump on your leg, and if you don’t pay enough attention to her, she’ll cry until you give her what she wants. Some customers skip the flowers altogether and come in just to see Lulu. However, as our director of Sales and Marketing, she will make sure that you leave with a bloom and a bauble or two. Her cuteness and charm made her the perfect choice to lead the Customer Retention Department. Lulu looks forward to your next visit; she knows you can’t resist coming back (to see her, obviously).
